16th - 17th and 18th remedies.

HONEY SUCKLE: Always thinking of the past, talks of the past events—lives in the past. Cannot break contact with the past events. Regrets and remorse for the past events. Does not live in the present, and makes no effort to solve the present difficulties. When a difficult situation arises, he escapes to the past, as if the present does not belong to him. Cannot get over the loss of a person one loved.

HORN BEAM: Mental weariness. Feels tired and exhausted even before he has started the work. Awakes in the morning but feels too weak to leave the bed. Visualizes the work to be done, and without touching the work feels weak and exhausted. Once he starts doing the work, he accomplishes it without difficulty. But this mental lethargy is the cause of his feeling of weakness. Feels more tired in the morning after night’s rest than in the evening after day’s labor.

IMPATIENCE: Impatience in all walks of life—in thought, in action, in temper, very quick in thinking, in deciding, in action, in speaking, in eating. Cannot tolerate slow or even normal speed of others. Would even snatch a piece of wood from another worker to finish it quickly. Their anger, although it flares up quickly, it subsides quickly. ‘Impatience’ type bosses and instructors never prove popular amongst their subordinates or trainees. Very restless when waiting in queue outside doctors’ clinic, at bus stop or railway stations. Quick tempered.

and the next...

GORSE: Hopelessness. When a patient is fed up with a long treatment of a chronic disease and has been either told by the doctors that his disease is incurable or has himself comet to the same conclusion, he becomes thoroughly depressed. Although he may continue with some treatment on the persuasion of some well-wishers, he himself is dejected, and has lost all hope to recover his health.

HEATHER: Self-centered. Always concerned with his own problems. Always talking of his own ailments. Has no time to listen to others. Makes a nuisance of himself, forcing others to listen to his constant prattle. Is shunned by friends. Becomes desperate when left alone without any listener.

HOLLY: Hatred, jealousy, envy, distrust, the very anti-thesis of LOVE. Hatred and distrust cause the greatest distress and unhappiness in man’s life. Not only man, but even a child becomes jealous of his younger brother or sister when he has to share his parent’s love with him—the love which was exclusively showered on him previously. Even a pet dog in the family shows resentment when a new baby arrives in the family.

the next three are...

CRAB APPLE: Wants to throw away anything which is unclean, which is undesirable. Wants to dispossess himself of any unclean thought, any unpleasant sensation and even any ugly part of his body.

ELM: ‘Weak moments in the live of the strong’. Even the most capable and efficient people holding most responsible position in the society are sometimes so weighed down by the amount of work they are supposed to accomplish, that they feel exhausted and a feeling of inadequacy assails them.

GENTIAN: Pessimism, Depression, Doubt, Lack of Faith, Always looks at the dark side of the case. Always calls a half bottle empty, never calls it half full. Depression from a known cause. A set-back during convalescence causes undue discouragement.

and the next three ...

CHESTNUT BUD: Inattentive. Repeats the same mistakes again and again; does not learn from past experiences. Absent minded, prone to road accidents.

CHIGORY: Selfish. Always keeps self interest in view, possessive, undue expectations from others; self-pity if she does not get full attention. Always wants to get and to possess, never wants to give.

CLEMATIS: Inattentive, mind far removed from the actual physical surroundings, pre-occupied with a vacant far away look and totally indifferent to what is happening around him. Lives more in dreams even when he is awake.

the next three remedies...

  1. CENTAURY: Lack of will—a weak willing slave doing other’s job who cannot refuse to be used as door-mat by others. Persons who appear to have no choice except to obey others.
  2. CERATO: Distrust of ones own judgment. Fails to be guided by his inner voice. Asks other’s opinion about his personal problems, is confused on getting their conflicting views and usually opts for the wrong choice, then laments after discovering that his own judgment was after all correct. Meanwhile he has made a nuisance of himself by asking frivolous questions from others.
  3. CHERRY PLUM: Desperation. Fear of losing his mind’s control over his actions. Can do anything—even kill somebody or kill himself at the spur of moment, without thinking. Unbearable condition of mind. Apt to act on impulse than on reason.
